ABOUT

Aija Elina Nieminen is a multidisciplinary artist and a part-time detective.

Nieminen is interested in history, memory and old technology as well as dark humour, sinister narratives and performances from theatre to everyday life. Her research interests include comedy, the Situationist International and the socio-political impact of art. Though a self-proclaimed lyrical genius back in her emo heyday in 2007, Nieminen’s writing currently focuses on scriptwriting. She writes and creates sketches and short films which play with form and narrative structures while examining the relationship between comedy and drama. Nieminen is the dream weaver and master of the macabre. She steals quotes from Garth Marenghi and occasionally feels obligated to write about herself in third person.
